AI Optimist ("we", "us") runs aioptimist.co. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect, why, and what choices you have.
The short version
- Your AI future answers are used only to write your story. We don't save them.
- If you join our community, we keep your email (and name, if you give it) to send you occasional updates.
- We never sell your personal information.
- You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information at any time.
What we collect
Your AI future vision
When you use the AI future tool, you share things like your name, profession, interests, goals and a few sentences about your hopes and dreams. We send these answers to our AI provider, Anthropic, so it can write your story, and the story is streamed straight back to your screen. We don't store your answers or your story on our servers, and we don't keep a copy of the PDFs you download. Those are created in your own browser.
Because your answers are sent to an AI to write your story, please don't include sensitive details you wouldn't want shared, such as health information, financial account numbers or passwords.
Community signup
If you join our community, we collect your email address and, if you choose to give them, your first and last name.
Shopping
Our store is run on Shopify. When you browse or buy, Shopify collects the information needed to process your order (such as your name, shipping address and payment details) under Shopify's privacy policy. Orders are printed and shipped by our print partner, Printful. We never see your full payment card details.
Basic technical information
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, to keep the site running securely.
How we use it
- To write your personalised AI future vision.
- To send community updates, new designs and news, if you signed up.
- To process and deliver your orders.
- To keep the website secure and working well.
Who we share it with
We only share information with the services that help us run AI Optimist:
- Anthropic: writes your AI future story. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Netlify: hosts our website and stores community signups.
- Shopify and Printful: run our store and fulfil orders.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe: every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us and we'll remove you.
- Access or delete: email us to ask what information we hold about you, or to have it deleted. We'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have additional rights over your personal information. Contact us and we'll help.
How long we keep it
We keep community signup details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal reasons.
Children
Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you're under 18, please use the AI future tool with a parent or guardian's permission.
About your AI future vision
Your vision is written by AI for inspiration and personal reflection. It isn't career, financial or professional advice, and any figures, such as salaries or prices, are estimates, not guarantees. Please verify important details before making big decisions.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
